Field hockey rules books...
Includes the full text of the Rules of Hockey, published by the global governing body as recognized by the International Olympic Committee. Importantly, the book includes a list of suggestions to modify those rules to take into account [a] the special safety and skill level concerns regarding middle school student-athletes and [b] the budgetary realities that middle school athletic programs face that might otherwise restrict the growth of field hockey. In short, it is less expensive and safer to play field hockey games using Middle School Field Hockey Rules than those created to govern the complexities of varsity high school competitions. The book is updated whenever the Rules of Hockey are updated.
The rules books approved by the International Hockey Federation (FIH) Executive Board are all free for download. By rule, all participants (players, coaches, and umpires) are required to know the rules.
The FIH is the international governing body for hockey and is responsible for the rules of Outdoor Hockey (11 a-side), Indoor Hockey, Hockey5s, Beach, and Para-ID Hockey. You can download the rules for each format of the game for free from the FIH website.
